Moroccan hashish

Moroccan hashish on sale in our shop is a light derivative of cannabis sativa L. , the only variety of hemp currently cultivable in Italy (pursuant to Law no. 242 of 2016). It is a 'light' product, i.e. free of psychotropic or psychoactive effects as it is characterized by a content of THC less than 0.2% and therefore within the limits established by current regulations. The raw material, obtained from highly selected first choice inflorescences, comes from organic cultivations that do not use chemical pesticides and other potentially harmful synthetic substances.

The extraction of the resin is carried out in a controlled environment, in such a way as to preserve all the best chemical and aromatic characteristics of the hashish. Thanks to a quantity of CBD equal to 18% (a cannabinoid without narcotic effects), this variety of legal smoke retains many of its beneficial properties, especially the relaxing and anti-stress ones.

HISTORY OF MOROCCAN HASHISH

Hashish - also commonly called 'smoke' - is a high THC resin obtained from the trichomes of the inflorescences of female cannabis plants. The techniques for extracting the resinous residue of hemp vary greatly based on the region in which the plants are grown; hashish produced in Morocco is obtained from dried and then sieved cannabis plants . This process allows you to obtain a greater quantity of product than the Indo-Himalayan method (with which charas is produced).

The traditional Moroccan hashish phenotype consists of plants that are not particularly tall and develop few lateral branches compared to the main stem. From these the inflorescences are obtained, destined for drying and sieving, before the pressing necessary to separate the resin from the plant residues. The result is one compact resinous paste , amber in color with golden hues, characterized by a intense and pungent aroma , enriched by pleasant floral and vegetal notes . Normally, hashish is particularly rich in THC and other cannabinoids, since these substances are found to a greater extent in the trichomes that cover the cannabis buds. The hashish produced by Legal cannabis , on the other hand, contains a good quantity of CBD compared to an almost zero level of THC; Nonetheless, it retains all its aromatic characteristics intact.

Production of Moroccan hashish

Hashish production in Morocco began in the Middle Ages. Originally, it was obtained with a simple traditional technique: the cannabis plants, after being harvested, were left to dry in the sun on the roofs of houses, a rather aggressive method but still used today by some growers. Unlike what happens today with the most modern manufacturing processes, the dried hemp plants were not immersed in water; therefore, the resins were of lower quality due to the numerous contaminants. After drying, the plants were wrapped in fabric and beaten; Moroccan growers soon realized that the 'residues' of this process offered a higher yield than the remains of the threshed plants. The material separated by sieving was then pressed by hand, or with the use of weights.

Today Moroccan hashish is produced almost exclusively on Rif mountains ; More modern production techniques are used, which include dry sieving, washing in ice water and separation of the resin using chemical solvents (including butane).
